ResLife Staff Spotlight: Nutt Hall

The staff at Nutt Hall has been selected as the next group to receive the Office of Residence Life Staff Spotlight.

The Resident Director Appreciation and Recognition committee developed this honor as a way to recognize everyone on the staff for their dedication and hard work.

Additionally, the recognition program allows residents of the hall and the campus community to get to know their leaders.

Here is some information about each member of the staff:

Resident Assistant Amy Jo Daniels is a sophomore public relations major from Cabot. She enjoys interacting with her residents, singing, crafting and spending time with friends. Her favorite quote is by Ghandi, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” She became an RA to make a positive impact on people and help others.

Resident Assistant Clay Wyllia is a sophomore from Atkins double majoring in broadcast journalism and speech communication. His favorite program has been “Club Nutt.” He likes being an RA because he is the go-to person for others and loves helping people. He said he chose Tech because he loves being involved, and on this campus, it’s impossible not to.

Resident Assistant Vincent Tran is a junior sociology major from Rogers. He enjoys playing guitar, video games and sports, and watching River Monsters. He became an RA because he saw an opportunity to better himself and make on-campus living more fun. Building relationships with his residents is his favorite part of being an RA.

Resident Assistant Cameron Smith is a freshman electrical engineering major from Paris, Texas. He chose Arkansas Tech because he was impressed with the engineering program and liked the location. He enjoys fishing and hanging out with residents at hall programs. Helping other students get involved has been his mission as an RA. His favorite candy is Jolly Ranchers.

Resident Assistant Hannah Goetz is a senior management and marketing major from Paris. She hosted a program called “Moneyball: Leadership and Management” to help her residents think about responsibility and accountability. She enjoys going to concerts, playing volleyball and drawing. Her favorite part of being an RA is working with the rest of the hall staff and her amazing boss, Melissa.

Resident Assistant Raechel Hollander is a freshman sociology major from Bentonville. She is a member of the Arkansas Tech Quidditch team, among other groups on campus. She enjoys getting to know her residents, and hosted a program called “Superhero Week.” Her favorite quote is, “Life is grand” and her favorite candy is Jolly Ranchers.

Resident Assistant Amie Lovaas is a senior accounting and economics/finance major from Harrison. She hosts a weekly Nutt Hall Cookout. She became an RA to get more involved on campus and she enjoys helping her residents make the most out of their college experience. She chose Arkansas Tech because of the small community and beautiful campus.

Resident Assistant Robert Carper is a senior management and marketing major from Springdale. He became an RA because he loves getting to know people and helping others, so making it his job was natural. He enjoys having the ability to organize ways for people to interact and have fun. His hobbies include rock climbing, volleyball and ultimate Frisbee and his favorite candy is orange slices.

Resident Assistant Buddy Thomas is a junior parks and recreation major from Little Rock. He hosted a program to teach residents what he learned during a semester at sea. He enjoys meeting new people, hiking, spending time with his Sigma Pi brothers, going to new places and laying in hammocks. He loves being an RA because it puts him in a position to enhance the college experience for others.

Resident Director Melissa Klinkhammer is a second year graduate student in the college student personnel program. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in nonprofit administration from Northern Iowa University, where she was actively involved in a variety of capacities on campus. Klinkhammer’s favorite movie is Empire Records and her favorite color is hot pink. Her favorite experience at Arkansas Tech has been working with the wonderful students.
