Arkansas Tech University is making it easier for students to access software needed to complete assignments.

Computer Services is now offering a pool of virtual desktops that will allow students to access software that is normally available in the Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center.

The software packages available includes Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, SolidWorks, MATLAB, SPSS and more.

Officials in Computer Services say the virtual desktops are available from any computer or iPad that has an internet connection.  The virtual desktops are available 24 hours a day.

The vDesktop technology that allows the virtual desktops is currently being used in several labs across campus.

Computer Services says they hope the virtual desktops will enhance student-learning by allowing easier access to the technology.
