McHale Wins Tech’s Got Talent 2017

Katie McHale is the 2017 Tech’s Got Talent champion at Arkansas Tech University.

A freshman instrumental music education major from Clinton, McHale won the title with an exhibition of her clogging ability at Witherspoon Auditorium in Russellville on Thursday night.

The singing duo of Tori and Lexi Morris earned second place in the talent competition. HITZ, a hip hop dance team comprised of Michelle Montoya, LeAnthony “RayRay” Moses and Dywon Wilson, finished third.

Additional finalists who performed on Thursday night included:

  • ATU Dance Company (Alexandreia Nelson, Ambriyah McFadden, Kaylon Hodges, Diana Ramirez, Khaliah Keith and Jay Anderson; hip hop dance)
  • McDonald’s All Day Breakfast Club (Emily Thompson, Rob Warner and Heather Caplett; band)
  • Riley Robinson (lyrical dance)

Tech’s Got Talent is presented by Student Activities Board and the ATU Office of Campus Life.
