Green Zone Training Planned for May

Arkansas Tech University faculty and staff will have two opportunities to become Green Zone certified through the ATU Office of Veteran Services during May 2019.

The initiative, believed to be the first of its kind in Arkansas, provides faculty and staff with training that will better prepare them to serve the needs of military-affiliated students. All faculty and staff are eligible to become Green Zone certified.

The training sessions for faculty and staff will take place on the following dates and times at these locations:

  • Tuesday, May 7, 1:30 p.m., Rothwell Hall room 138
  • Friday, May 10, 9 a.m., Doc Bryan Student Services Center room 242

Each session lasts approximately two-and-a-half hours.

So far, 100 members of the ATU faculty and staff have earned Green Zone certification.

Space is limited for the May training events. Those interested in securing a spot in an upcoming Green Zone training session may contact Shelly Hall at (479) 968-0445 or shall2@atu.edu.
