Flu Shot Clinic Next Week

The Arkansas Tech University Health and Wellness Center has announced it will host a free flu shot clinic for students next week.

The clinic will take place on Thursday, Sept. 27 in Room 204 of the Baswell Techionery. For those students not able to attend the clinic, the vaccine will be administered at no cost through the Arkansas Tech Health and Wellness Center.

Following the clinic, students wishing to receive an injection should call Arkansas Tech Health and Wellness at 479-968-0329 to make an appointment.  The Arkansas Tech Health and Wellness Center is located in Dean Hall 126.

Once students have had an opportunity to receive a flu shot, Arkansas Tech University faculty and staff will also be able to receive a vaccination.  Faculty and staff shots will be offered in the next two-three weeks, and interested faculty and staff members must first pay a $10 charge at the student accounts office inside the Doc Bryan Student Services Building before making their appointments.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) estimates each year in the United States 5% to 20% of the population gets the flu, and the CDC says a flu shot is one of the best ways to protect against the flu.  Read additional CDC suggestions to protect against the flu.
