Black History Month Kickoff Event Friday

Arkansas Tech University will commence its celebration of Black History Month 2019 with a kickoff event at Hindsman Tower on Friday, Feb. 1.

Beginning at 1:30 p.m., the assembly will feature a presentation about the origins of Black History Month and a vocal performance by ATU registered student organization United Voices of Praise.

Dr. Alaric Williams, associate professor of college student personnel and interim head of the ATU Department of College Student Personnel, will speak on what Black History Month means to him. ATU students will be offered an opportunity to speak on that topic as well.

Free hot chocolate will be served.

The event is sponsored by the ATU Department of Diversity and Inclusion.
