ATU Russellville Campus Closing at 3 p.m.

Arkansas Tech University is closing its Russellville campus at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, due to a widespread water service outage created by a water line repair project near Nutt Residence Hall.

All classes starting at 3 p.m. or later are canceled. Campus events scheduled for 3 p.m. or later are postponed and may be rescheduled for a later date at the discretion of the offices and organizations sponsoring those events. Personnel who are not responding to the water service outage or essential to the safety of campus are excused for the remainder of the day beginning at 3 p.m.

The ATU Office of Residence Life is enacting contingency plans to provide proper accommodations for students who will remain on campus during Fall Break, which begins on Thursday, Oct. 11.

Any individual with questions regarding housing accommodations during the water service outage is encouraged to call the ATU Office of Residence Life at (479) 968-0376.

Chambers Cafeteria will remain open for regular hours on Wednesday, Oct. 10, to serve the nutritional needs of students remaining on campus.

Doc Bryan Student Services Center will remain open and staffed until midnight on Wednesday, Oct. 10, in order to provide students with a place to relax with friends.

An event hosted by Tyson Foods at Tucker Coliseum during the evening hours on Wednesday, Oct. 10, will continue as planned.

It is anticipated that campus will open as scheduled on Thursday, Oct. 11, and campus events planned for Thursday will take place. More information will be communicated via www.arkansastechnews.com as it becomes available.
