ATU-Ozark’s Associate Nursing program’s Application for Candidacy Granted

The Arkansas Tech University- Ozark Campus associate nursing program’s application for Candidacy has been granted to become an accredited program by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). The status is valid for two years, expiring in March of 2021. Therefore, the initial accreditation site must take place before March 13, 2021.
According to the ACEN, the goal is to promote quality nursing education and to support the faculty and the program in the accreditation process.
The decision to grant Candidacy status is based on the nursing program demonstrating it is currently compliant with selected ACEN Standards and Criteria and demonstrating the potential to achieve ACEN accreditation based upon the selected ACEN Standards and Criteria reviewed in the Candidacy presentation.
As of right now, the site visit is tentatively scheduled for Spring 2020.
