ATU-Ozark Annual Awards Announced

Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus students and faculty received end-of-year awards during spring 2018 commencement ceremonies at John E. Tucker Coliseum in Russellville on Thursday, May 10.

Tara Gould of Knoxville won the 40th annual Bob Adams Student Award, which is based on academic performance, involvement in school and community affairs and evaluations by classmates, instructors and the Arkansas Tech-Ozark Campus Student Government Association.

Jacob Veach of Fort Smith received the ATU-Ozark Campus Spirit Award. The award is presented annually to a student who exhibits a dedication to learning, a commitment to the promotion of ATU-Ozark and an interest in the welfare of other students.

Brenda Huntsinger and Tammy Verkamp are the 2018 Faculty Award of Excellence winners at ATU-Ozark.

Huntsinger, workforce education instructor in health information technology, was recognized in the teaching category. Verkamp, workforce education instructor in English, was honored in the service category.

Linda Clifton was announced as the winner of the ATU-Ozark Staff Senate Professional Excellence Award. She serves as associate director of advising and retention.
