ArFuture Grants Application Deadline July 1

Current and prospective Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus students are encouraged to apply for their share of $8.5 million in grants through a new program offered by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education.

Arkansas Future (ArFuture) grants will cover tuition and fees for eligible students in qualifying associate degree and certificate programs at public higher education institutions.

“This grant is designed to assist students who are interested in pursuing a career in a high wage, high demand occupation such as practical nursing or automotive service technology while reducing or eliminating the need for a student to take a student loan,” said Bruce Sikes, chancellor of ATU-Ozark Campus.

Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Application deadline for fall 2017 ArFuture grants is July 1, 2017.

“The Arkansas Futures grant will provide new opportunities for students who otherwise may not have thought that college was affordable,” said Alicen McMahan, associate director of financial aid at ATU-Ozark. “The Ozark Campus has 38 certificate and degree options that are eligible for this grant. We look forward to assisting students as they work to achieve their educational goals.”
