VPAA Search Committee, Open Forum Set

Seven members of the Arkansas Tech University community have been selected to serve on the vice president for academic affairs search committee.

The committee will be chaired by Dr. Mary B. Gunter, chief of staff in the ATU Office of the President. She will be joined by Dr. Judy Cezeaux, dean of the ATU College of Engineering and Applied Sciences; Tammy Guarino, ATU Staff Senate president; Dr. Johnette Moody, ATU Faculty Senate chair; Dr. Mike Murders, ATU-Ozark Campus chief academic officer; Jayson Simmons, ATU Student Government Association president; and Dr. Alaric Williams, interim head of the ATU Department of College Student Personnel.

Representatives from Academic Search, the firm ATU has selected to help guide the search, will be on campus for meetings with stakeholders on Monday, Oct. 15.

There will be an open forum for all faculty, staff and students from 3-4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 15, in Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center room 300.

All members of the university community are invited to attend the open forum and provide input on the search.

Those unable to attend the open forum may provide their input via e-mail to jsk@academic-search.com.

Members of the university community are encouraged to submit their views on leadership experience or credentials needed for the position, what they perceive as major challenges or opportunities the new vice president for academic affairs will face during the next few years and any nominations of people they would like for the search firm to contact. E-mails will be held confidentially.
