New Executive Chef at ATU’s Lake Point

Bernadette Hinkle, vice president for administration and finance at Arkansas Tech University, has announced the appointment of Adam Hanry as the executive chef at Lake Point Conference Center.

As executive chef, Hanry will manage all aspects of the food and beverage operations at Lake Point. He will be responsible for menu development, staff recruitment and maintaining high standards of food quality and service.

Hanry replaces the retiring Bruce Trefney, who had been the chef at Lake Point for more than 15 years.

Hanry has more than 30 years in the food service industry working for such well-known Arkansas venues as Ashley’s in the Capital Hotel, Loca Luna, the Riverfront Steakhouse, the Peabody Hotel and the WinRock Institute on Petit Jean Mountain.

He has been awarded more than 12 gold medals, more than 10 silver and bronze medals, as well as two People’s Choice Awards at the Arkansas Hospitality Association’s annual chef competition.

Hanry and his family reside in Morrilton. He has rendered volunteer service to the ATU Department of Parks, Recreation and Hospitality Administration by serving as a guest chef for its annual dinner series.

“Lake Point Conference Center and Arkansas Tech welcome Chef Adam to the staff and expect the extraordinary culinary service that Lake Point has been known for to continue,” said Hinkle.
