The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center regional office at Arkansas Tech University has announced training opportunities during July and August 2017.

The ATU ASBTDC regional office is designed to assist new, existing, and expanding businesses by offering a variety of services including free one-to-one confidential consulting, free market research and low cost or free training.

QuickBooks Online for Beginners (Hands on) | July 20
This workshop is designed for business owners and their employees with little or no experience using the cloud-based version of QuickBooks. Topics include navigation, setting up a company, transactions, reconciling accounts, and more. A computer with internet is provided during each interactive session. Cost per session is $65. This workshop discusses essential startup steps, legal business structures, regulations, licensing, key issues that affect your business success, and common pitfalls entrepreneurs face. A must for first-time small business owners! Cost to attend is $30, and veterans attend free. Starting a Business in Arkansas | August 1
Notaries verify signatures on legal and business documents to deter fraud and ensure the proper execution of these documents. The Arkansas Secretary of State’s Office will walk participants through the application process and discuss best practices and issues facing notaries today. All current and prospective notaries public are encouraged to attend. Special emphasis will be given to new laws that have recently passed affecting all notaries. Using Your Online Promotional Toolbox | August 1
This fast-paced workshop will highlight free and low-cost online tools to promote your business. Get tips for using your website, social media, email marketing, and other online tools to attract your audience. Customer Service | August 1
Excellent service is imperative for a positive customer experience and repeat business. Boosting Business with Great Customer Reviews | August 17
Do you know what customers are saying about your business online? Customer reviews on sites such as TripAdvisor and Yelp are influential. We will look at popular review sites, the content you control about your business, how you can turn negative feedback into a positive, and tips for getting great reviews. Workshop is free to attend thanks to a partnership with Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce, Uncommon Communities of Pope County, and Arkansas River Valley Tri Peaks Tourism Association.
