High Five Friday Lifts Spirits at Local School

Several dozen Arkansas Tech University students and members of the ATU College of Education faculty gave of their time on Friday, Sept. 21, to help students at Crawford Elementary School get their day off to a great start.

The ATU students participated in High Five Friday at Crawford Elementary. The program creates a dance party atmosphere in front of the building as students arrive for school.

Members of the ATU cheerleading squad and Jerry the Bulldog, ATU campus ambassador, were among those there to greet the students on Sept. 21.

The event was organized by the ATU College of Education.

“High Five Friday was a huge success,” said Pete Kelly, visiting instructor of health and physical education at ATU. “Sixty-three College of Education students were there to represent Arkansas Tech University, but more importantly give back to the next generation of young minds.”
