Graduate Students Share Research Findings

Fifteen students presented their research during the inaugural Arkansas Tech Graduate Student Symposium on Wednesday in the W.O. Young Ballroom.

Poster presentations allowed graduate students to visit with members of the campus community and beyond about topics of local, state, national and global importance.

“This symposium is one of the highlights of our year in the Graduate College,” said Dr. Mary Gunter, dean of the Arkansas Tech Graduate College and College of Education. “It provides us with an opportunity to spotlight the important work our students are doing in the realms of traditional research and action research. A research agenda helps graduate students improve their critical thinking skills and add to the knowledge base of their particular discipline. Their research can improve our lives, our economy, our environment and the way we teach. Perhaps what is most meaningful is how these projects increase the confidence of our students.”

The symposium was presented by the Arkansas Tech Graduate Student Council.
