Chartwells Welcomes New Leadership

There will be two new leaders for food service operations at Arkansas Tech University during the 2018-19 academic year.

Stan Solomon is the new senior director of dining services for Chartwells at ATU, while Todd Hartley is the new executive chef.

“Our number one concern is the students,” said Solomon. “We will listen and react quickly to what they tell us. Overcoming menu fatigue is a big part of that. It is important that we avoid monotony by incorporating local flavors. There are a lot of good people associated with Chartwells at Arkansas Tech, and we have a lot of hard work to do in order to consistently meet our standard of service.”

Solomon (photographed, left) has worked with Chartwells for a decade, including time in food service leadership positions at Southern Polytechnic State University (Ga.), the University of Arkansas and Lincoln Memorial University (Tenn.). He also has 25 years of experience as an executive chef, and he holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Old Dominion University (Va.).

Hartley (photographed, right) brings more than eight years of experience to his role at ATU. Originally from Trumann in northeast Arkansas, Hartley has worked in a variety of capacities for Chartwells at the University of Arkansas since 2010.
