ASBTDC Announces July Seminars

Local small businesses have the opportunity to attend several training sessions on business operations throughout the month of July as part of several seminars hosted by the Small Business and Technology Development Center at Arkansas Tech.

The seminars cover a variety of topics including business strategies and starting a new business.

Arkansas Tech University faculy and staff are able to attend each of the seminars at no cost, while Tech students can attend for half price.

The regional office of the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center is located at Arkansas Tech, and is designed to assist new, existing, and expanding businesses by offering a variety of services including consulting, training, and market research.

The following seminars will be offered in July:

  • Free and Local: Small Business Marketing  — Thursday, July 11 from 9 a.m. – noon at Paris First National Bank Community Center. Speaker: Ronda Hawkins, ASBTDC.  Cost is $30 for the general public and $20 for Paris Chamber members.
  • Exceptional Customer Service — Wednesday, July 17 from 9 a.m. – noon at Clarksville Chamber of Commerce. Speaker: Ronda Hawkins, ASBTDC.  Cost is $30 for the general public and $20 for Clarksville Chamber members.
  • Starting a Business in Arkansas — Tuesday, July 23 from 9 a.m. – noon at at Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall. Speaker: Nathan George, ASBTDC. Cost is $30.
  • Intermediate QuickBooks (Hands on)  — Thursday, July 25 from 1 – 4 p.m. at Beall Barclay and Company in Fort Smith.  Speaker: Larissa Miller, Beall Barclay and Company.  Cost is $65.
  • QuickBooks Payroll (Hands On) — Tuesday, July 30 from 9 a.m. – noon at Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall. Speaker: Ronda Hawkins, ASBTDC. Cost is $65.
