Arkansas Tech University Theatre will present a production of “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” during April 2019.
Performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, Friday, April 12, and Saturday, April 13, at the Techionery Theatre, 1502 N. El Paso Ave. in Russellville.
Tickets ($8 general admisssion/$5 students and ATU faculty and staff) will be available at the door.
Written by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield, the play turns multiple works of Shakespeare into shortened parodies from a comedic point of view.
The production will be directed by ATU students Holly Willmon of Bauxite and Nathan Yzaguirre of Hot Springs.
“I’ve been wanting to do this show since my sophomore year of high school, and to finally watch it in progress is a dream come true,” said Yzaguirre. “I owe thanks to every member involved, including my co-director, our incredibly hard-working cast and the talented individuals in our production team.”

Abraham Zarate of Russellville (stage manager), Ashlin Trahan of Clarksville (assistant stage manager), Robert Warner of Little Rock (scenic designer), Faith Spencer of Clarksville (lighting designer), Madeline Geels of Clarksville (costume designer), Garrett Lang of Pea Ridge (sound designer), Maegan Anderson of London (properties manager), Cannon Cobb of Pottsville (poster designer/co-master electrician), Caleb Foshe of Farmington (master electrician) and Chloe Charton of Ola (dramaturg) are contributing to the production behind the scenes.
Avery Coonts, ATU technical theatre supervisor, is technical director. Dr. David J. Eshelman, professor of communication and director of ATU Theatre, is producer.
“Being able to collaborate with Nathan for directing has not only been great, but to also work with the other actors to help improve and develop acts to be in the show has been enjoyable,” said Willmon. “I look forward to seeing all that we can bring to the show to make it our own.”
