Arkansas Tech University finished sixth among a field of 17 men’s golf teams at the Central Region Preview, which was played Sunday through Tuesday at Hot Springs Country Club.
The Wonder Boys recorded team scores of 290-289-292 for an 871 total. Henderson State University won the team title by 11 strokes with a 54-hole score of 849.
Kellen Gray (T-21st, 72-73-71-216), Austin Gean (T-33rd, 70-74-75-219), Shawn Tsai (T-33rd, 73-70-76-219), Trevor Brunson (T-39th, 75-74-71-220) and Francois Jacobs (T-57th, 78-72-75-225) contributed to Tech’s team score.
ATU’s Andre Jacobs (T-8th, 72-71-70-213) and Chandler McDowell (T-47th, 72-78-72-222) competed as individuals.
The Wonder Boys are scheduled to participate in the Midwest Regional at Fox Run in Eureka, Mo., on Monday, Oct. 8, and Tuesday, Oct. 9.
