Wonder Boys, Javelinas to Meet in Waco

Arkansas Tech University will close out the pre-holiday break portion of its 2018-19 men’s basketball schedule with a neutral-site, non-conference contest against Texas A&M University-Kingsville on Saturday, Dec. 15, at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas.

After their trip to Waco, the Wonder Boys will be idle until they make a two-game Great American Conference road trip to face Southeastern Oklahoma State University (Thursday, Jan. 3) and East Central University (Saturday, Jan. 5). The next home game for Tech’s men is slated for Thursday, Jan. 10, against Southern Nazarene University.

About the Wonder Boys: Arkansas Tech is on a five-game losing streak. Three of the five losses have been by five points or less. The Wonder Boys’ last win was a 94-80 triumph over William Jewell College on Nov. 17. Sophomore guard R.J. Glasper (18.9 points per game) along with senior guards Will Adler (15.6 points per game) and Alex Brown (15.1 points per game) are Tech’s leading scorers.

About the Javelinas: Texas A&M-Kingsville is a member of NCAA Division II and the Lone Star Conference. The Javelinas, who have recorded one winning season in the last nine years, are picked to finish ninth in the 10-team LSC during the 2018-19 season. TAMU-Kingsville has lost three consecutive games, all by seven points or less. The Javelinas lead the LSC in scoring defense (65.8 points allowed per game) and opponents’ field goal percentage (.395).
