Suns Close Fall Golf Schedule on Strong Note

Arkansas Tech University’s women’s golf team posted rounds of 282-295 for a 577 total and a runner-up finish in the rain-shortened 2018 Dallas Baptist University Fall Classic.

All 36 holes of the tournament were played by the 15-team field on Monday. Host Dallas Baptist took the title with a 36-hole score of 569.

Tech’s Peerada Piddon finished third in the individual standings. She shot 67-73 for a 4-under par total of 140 and was subsequently named Great American Conference women’s golf player of the week.

Pia Nunbhakdi (T-6th, 70-73-143), Jacqueline Klemm (11th, 73-73-146), Sydney Staton (16th, 72-77-149) and Mackenzie Douglas (T-26th, 78-76-154) also contributed to the Golden Suns’ second-place finish in the team standings.

Tech’s Allie Weiner (T-37th, 75-82-157) competed as an individual.

The DBU Classic marked the conclusion of the fall portion of the Golden Suns’ 2018-19 women’s golf schedule.
