Golden Suns Victorious at UCO RCB Classic

Arkansas Tech University posted team scores of 299 and 295 to win the University of Central Oklahoma RCB Classic at The Golf Club of Edmond in Edmond, Okla., on Monday and Tuesday.

The Golden Suns’ 594 total was two strokes better than runner-up Northeastern State University, which posted rounds of 296-300.

A total of 17 teams participated in the event.

Pia Nunbhakdi (T-6th, 73-74-147), Sydney Staton (T-8th, 75-73-148), Jacqueline Klemm (T-11th, 77-72-149), Peerada Piddon (T-13th, 74-76-150) and Allie Weiner (T-34th, 79-79-158) contributed to the Golden Suns’ team victory.

Arkansas Tech’s Mackenzie Douglas (T-15th, 72-79-151) and Bhenyapa Buranasiri (T-22nd, 77-75-152) competed as individuals.

The Golden Suns will conclude the fall portion of their 2018-19 golf schedule at the Dallas Baptist University Fall Classic on Monday, Oct. 8, and Tuesday, Oct. 9.
