Megan Hintz recorded a double-double to lead Minnesota State University-Moorhead to a 65-51 victory over Arkansas Tech University in non-conference women’s basketball at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo., on Friday afternoon.
Hintz scored 16 points and collected 13 rebounds for the Dragons (1-0), defending Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference champions.
MSU-Moorhead out-rebounded the Golden Suns 45-34 and limited Arkansas Tech to 31 percent field goal shooting.
Jacie Higgins scored 10 points to lead Arkansas Tech. Hannah Villines and Alicia Mardis contributed nine points apiece, while Lyrik Williams collected a team-high eight rebounds.
The Golden Suns (0-1) will conclude their stay in Kansas City by facing Northern State University for a 1:30 p.m. contest at Municipal Auditorium on Saturday, Nov. 10.
