ATU Remains Inside Cut Line in Muscle Shoals

Arkansas Tech University posted a second-round team score of 293 at the NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championships on Tuesday and is in sole possession of seventh place with one round of stroke play remaining.

The top eight teams at the conclusion of the stroke play portion of the event on Wednesday will advance to match play beginning Thursday morning. The national semifinals will be played on Thursday afternoon, and the two remaining teams will compete for the national championship on Friday.

The Wonder Boys’ 36-hole team total is 577 over the 7,407-yard, par-72 layout at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at The Shoals Fighting Joe Course in Muscle Shoals, Ala.

Two institutions that once shared membership with Arkansas Tech in the Gulf South Conference — Lincoln Memorial University and Delta State University — are next. LMU is in eighth place at 582, while the DSU Statesmen are outside the cut line in ninth place with a two-round score of 588.

The Wonder Boys, Railsplitters and Statesmen will be paired together on Wednesday with tee times ranging from noon to 12:44 p.m.
