Youth Against Underage Drinking is hosting the “2011 Concert Series” this Friday.

From 7:30 p.m. to midnight, bands will play at the Hughes Center while to help raise awareness of the dangers of underage drinking.

Bands include Some Guy Named Robb, Dark from Day One, Andy Moore of Deas Vail, Momentum and Strawberry Swing.

The first 250 people will receive a free t-shirt, pizza, drinks, and be entered in a drawing. Prizes include a guitar signed by the bands that was donated by Keith’s Music, Wal-Mart gift cards, and several prize packages.

The Hughes Center is located at 1001 East Parkway Dr. in Russellville.

The event is being put on by the Teen Leadership Coalitions (TLCs) of Pope and Yell counties, which are composed of area high school students, in coordination with the Russellville Police Department and the River Valley Prevention Coalition.

“We are excited that an event like this is taking place in the River Valley and the message the TLCs are putting forth is one of the utmost importance,” said PIO Josh McMillian of the Russellville Police Department.
