Suns Ranked No. 13 For 2nd Week

Arkansas Tech is listed at No. 13 in the USA Today/ESPN NCAA Division II women’s basketball top 25 for a second consecutive week.

The latest version of the poll was released by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association on Tuesday, Jan. 31.

The Golden Suns (13-3 overall, 5-3 Great American Conference) have won four of their last five games to move into third place in the GAC standings halfway through the league race.

Arkansas Tech has been ranked in 39 consecutive USA Today/ESPN NCAA Division II top 25 polls (including preseason polls).

The Golden Suns entered the rankings at No. 24 on Dec. 8, 2009, and they have been included in every poll since — the final 13 polls of the 2009-10 season, all 16 of the 2010-11 polls and all 10 polls so far in 2011-12.

Arkansas Tech will visit Arkansas-Monticello for a 5:30 p.m. GAC game at Steelman Field House in Monticello on Thursday, Feb. 2.

Game two of Thursday’s doubleheader will pit the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys (14-4, 6-2) against the UAM Boll Weevils at 7:30 p.m.
