Arkansas Tech University faculty and students are reminded that all classes on the Russellville and Ozark campuses have been cancelled on Friday, April 1, in honor of former president Dr. Kenneth Kersh.
Kersh, the only alumnus to ever serve as president at Arkansas Tech, died on March 23. He was 83.
The 10th president of Arkansas Tech, Kersh led the university from 1973-93. He was inducted into the Arkansas Tech Hall of Distinction in 1994.
Friends, familly and colleagues will remember Dr. Kersh during a memorial service at All Saints Episcopal Church in Russellville at 11 a.m. Friday.
The campus will be open for regular business hours on Friday, but Arkansas Tech President Dr. Robert C. Brown said that all employees who wish to attend the memorial service for Kersh are encouraged to do so.
