Suns Make Quick Work of Non-League Foes

Arkansas Tech extended its volleyball winning streak to 10 matches with a pair of non-conference victories at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville on Friday night.

The Golden Suns (28-4) opened the evening with a 25-4, 25-5, 25-13 win over Philander Smith College.

Sara Motsinger made 10 kills and Amber Cerrillos had 29 assists for the Suns.

Tech then defeated Central Baptist College 25-9, 25-12, 25-19 to improve to 13-1 at home this season.

Kelly O’Malley notched 14 kills and Motsinger had 13 kills in the nightcap.

The Golden Suns will return to Gulf South Conference action on Tuesday, Nov. 2, with a match against the the University of Arkansas at Monticello. First serve at Steelman Field House in Monticello is set for 7 p.m.

Arkansas Tech can clinch at least a share of the GSC West Division title with a victory at UAM on Tuesday.
