Harper, ATU Class of ’96, Earns Exec Position

Arkansas Tech University alumnus Chaun Harper has been named senior vice president and chief manufacturing officer for Mary Kay Inc. beauty brand.

Harper earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from ATU in 1996.

A native of Scott, Ark., Harper was president of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity at ATU.

He was a Wonder Boys football letterman from 1993-95 and was a key contributor to the 1994 Arkansas Tech team that won the final Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference football championship. Harper intercepted five passes that season and returned two of them for touchdowns. His 137 interception return yards in 1994 are third-most in a single season in Tech history.

Harper was named All-AIC and NAIA All-America in 1994. He was voted to the All-Gulf South Conference second team in 1995.

Formerly a L’Oréal employee in operations and quality control, Harper joined Mary Kay in 2014 as director of production operations.

In his new role at Mary Kay, Harper will be responsible for global manufacturing operations, global inventory control, supply planning, transportation and global quality.
