Familiar Faces: Raymond Monica

Raymond Monica is the new football coach at Arkansas Tech, and he’s this week’s Familiar Face.  Monica says he’s enjoyed getting to know the Tech community and is excited to be in the River Valley.


Health and Wellness Center to Offer Screenings

Arkansas Tech University students, faculty and staff will be able to take advantage of  several health screenings today during an event hosted by the Arkansas Tech Health and Wellness Center.

From 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. representatives from the Health and Wellness Center will be on the second floor of the Baswell Techionery providing several screenings including blood pressure, cholesterol and body mass index.

The screenings are free for Arkansas Tech students.  Faculty and staff wishing to take part in the screenings should pay a $10 charge in advance in the Office of Student Accounts, which is located in the Doc Bryan Student Services Building.

WonderWeek 2013 Concludes Thursday

WonderWeek 2013 will conclude Thursday evening with the Gold Rush Game Day event.  The Wonder Boys and Golden Suns will take on the Harding Bisons.

As part of the festivities, the Wonder Boys football team and the Arkansas Tech Spirit Squads will present a halftime performance.

Students sitting in “Gold Mine” student section will have the opportunity to score a free t-shirt, construction zone hat and enter to win a free car.

The Golden Suns will play at 5:30 p.m., and the Wonder Boys will hit the hardwood at 7:30 p.m.

WonderWeek is a joint effort of Student Government Association, Residence Hall Association, Student Activities Board, International and Multicultural Student Services Office, Career Services, Up ‘til Dawn, African American Student Association and ENACTUS.

Educator’s Fair Thursday Morning

Norman Career Services at Arkansas Tech University will host an Educator’s Fair on Thursday from 9 a.m. until noon in the W.O. Young Ballroom.

The fair was previously scheduled for last week but was postponed due to inclement weather.

Organizers say all students at Arkansas Tech, regardless of major, are invited to attend the fair, and those taking part should dress professionally.

Download the New ATU Mobile App for Free

Arkansas Tech University has developed a new mobile app that will help students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends remain connected with the institution wherever they go.

The new app — ATU Mobile — is available for free download at iTunes and Google Play. The app can be accessed by visiting

Current students will benefit from ATU Mobile through immediate access to course catalogs, the ability to search for resources in the Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center and on-the-go access to the Blackboard software suite, which includes important information about their current courses.

Guests on campus, including prospective students, will be able to utilize an interactive campus map to find their desired destination.

Other features of ATU Mobile include a searchable e-mail directory of all faculty, staff and students, a list of upcoming events, access to, campus quick links, scores and live statistics from Arkansas Tech Athletics, access to the OneTech information portal for the campus community and a help feature that will connect users with the Department of Public Safety and computer support personnel.
