Woolf Recognized on Her Retirement


Arkansas Tech University honored Rita Woolf today, as she retires from Arkansas Tech after 26 years of service.

Nurse Rita, as she is called by students, began working at Arkansas Tech back in 1986.

During today’s reception in the Doc Bryan Student Services Building, Rita said she has “many fond memories” of her time here at Tech.

“I have been honored to work here for the past 26 years,” said Woolf.  “When you’ve worked that long at one location, you have many happy memories and great friends.  I will miss each of you but am excited for the next chapter of my life.”

Upon her retirement, Woolf is relocating to Fort Smith to be closer to her children and grandchildren.


Important Deadline Arrives


Students enrolled in the first summer session at Arkansas Tech University have through today to  withdraw from the course.

It is also the last day to change from credit to audit for these courses. Students must bring a completed add/drop form to the Office of the Registrar no later than 5:00 p.m., June 29 to change their class schedule.

Next week will mark the last week of classes for the first term, and students will officially complete the first summer term on Friday, July 6.

Those individuals taking courses in the second summer term will begin classes on Monday, July 9.

Late registration for the second summer term is Monday, July 9 and Tuesday, July 10.

Woolf to be Honored at Reception


The Arkansas Tech University Office of Student Services will honor Rita Woolf with a retirement reception Friday.

The reception will be held from 2-4 p.m. in Room 242 of the Doc Bryan Student Services Building.

Woolf is a registered nurse at Arkansas Tech and works in the Health and Wellness Center.

She has served on the Arkansas Tech staff for 26 years.

Officials say the Tech community is invited to attend to offer their well wishes on her retirement.

Bookstore Closed Today


The Arkansas Tech University Bookstore will be closed through the remainder of the week in order to conduct its year-end inventory.

The bookstore will resume regular business hours on Monday, July 2.  Throughout the summer, the bookstore is open from 7:30 a.m.- 4 p.m. each day.

Students, faculty, staff and members of the Tech community are able to purchase books and a variety of Arkansas Tech spirit items at the Tech bookstore.

Save Big at the Tech Bookstore


Arkansas Tech University students will be able to save on textbooks, school supplies and clothing items for the fall semester during a tax free weekend in August.

The statewide sales tax holiday is slated for August 4-5, and all retailers in the State of Arkansas will be required to waive all state and local sales taxes on clothing items, school supplies and textbooks. This marks the second year the State of Arkansas has offered a sales tax holiday.

The Arkansas Tech Bookstore will be open from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, and Noon- 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 5.

In addition to no sales tax, students will be able to save an additional 5% on textbooks, 10% on school supplies, 15% on clothing items and 20% on backpacks.

The savings will also be available for students making online purchases through the Arkansas Tech Bookstore website.  The online shopping hours begin at 12:01 a.m. Saturday, August 4, and run through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, August 5.
