For the second time in less than a week, the Arkansas Tech University Department of Emergency Management has earned national acclaim for its performance in online education.
Emergency Management Degree Program Guide (EMDPG), an online resource for individuals researching educational options in emergency management and homeland security, has ranked the online Master of Science degree in emergency management and homeland security at Arkansas Tech as the best online emergency management master degree in the United States for 2016-17.
The EMDPG staff made note of the affordable price of the degree before going on to also praise the program for its high quality.
“ATU aims to do a lot more than save you a few dollars and cents,” wrote the EMDPG staff in its evaluation of the Arkansas Tech online master degree in emergency management and homeland security. “It also intends to provide an emergency management education that makes sense. To that end, all courses are available both online and in the classroom, the program director personally advises each admitted student, and the curriculum offers separate thesis and practicum options to support diverse career goals.”
EMDPG had previously ranked Arkansas Tech No. 2 on its list of top 10 online emergency management bachelor degrees for 2016-17.
Arkansas Tech entered the realm of emergency management education in 1997. Tech was the first institution in the world to have its degree programs in emergency management accredited by the Foundation on Higher Education in Disaster/Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
