Faculty and staff from Arkansas Tech University convened at the Center for Leadership and Learning on Tuesday, Aug. 14, for the initial meeting of the Leadership Tech Governing Council.
The new council is charged with ensuring the sustainability and continued quality of Leadership Tech, a professional development program for ATU faculty and staff that debuted in 2016.
Dr. Mary B. Gunter, chief of staff in the ATU Office of the President, is the chair of the Leadership Tech Governing Council.
Carrie Phillips, interim director of marketing and communication, and Aubrey Holt, assistant dean for campus life, are serving as vice chairs. Phillips and Holt graduated from Leadership Tech in spring 2018 as members of the inaugural cohort and both have served the program in the role of facilitator.
Additional members of the council include 2018-19 Leadership Tech facilitators (Dr. Jeff Aulgur, Dr. Johnette Moody, Kim DuVall Renteria, Dr. Jeff Robertson, Dr. Sandy Smith and David Spicer) and 2016-18 Leadership Tech alumni facilitators (Jana Crouch, Melanie Diffey, Amy Pennington, Dr. Jeremy Schwehm, Bruce Sikes and Brooke Southard).
Committees within the council will focus on program administration and communication, project implementation, curricula and participant selection.
Cohort three of Leadership Tech will begin its course of study in fall 2018, while the second cohort will participate in its second and final year of the program in 2018-19.
ATU faculty and staff interested in applying for Leadership Tech cohort four will have the opportunity to do so during the spring 2019 semester.
