Amanda Johnson has joined Norman Career Services at Arkansas Tech University as employee relations coordinator.
In her new role, Johnson cultivates relationships and identifies career opportunities for Arkansas Tech students and alumni with corporate, non-profit and public sector employers. These opportunities include full-time employment, part-time jobs and internships.
Johnson also provides career coaching to students and alumni in their career exploration and development.
“I see my position as a bridge between Norman Career Services, college departments and employers,” said Johnson. “My goal is to bridge gaps and work collaboratively to bring in as many employers as possible so that our students have options in deciding which employer is best for their situation and skill set.”
A native of Russellville, Johnson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Arkansas Tech. She previously served as regional director for the Arkansas River Valley Tri-Peaks Tourism Association and marketing assistant for the Russellville Advertising and Promotion Commission.
Johnson joins a full-time staff in Norman Career Services that also includes Brandon Wright, director of career services; Melanie Diffey, career counselor; and Jayne Sewell, administrative assistant.
