Get Out, Get Involved in July Student Events

Arkansas Tech University students are invited to participate in activities planned by the ATU Office of Campus Life during July 2017.

The schedule begins with a UEC Night at the Movies on Tuesday, July 11. Students will have the opportunity to attend a late show screening of “Spider-Man: Homecoming” or “Despicable Me 3” at UEC Theatres, 3800 West Main Street in Russellville. Tickets are limited and must be picked up in advance with the presentation of a valid ATU identification card in Doc Bryan Student Services Center room 233 beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 10.

On Thursday, July 20, the scene will shift to Sports World at 3700 West Main Street in Russellville for ATU Bowling Night. Students with a valid ATU ID will receive one free game and one free shoe rental from 7-9 p.m.

Friendly competition will continue on Monday, July 24, and Tuesday, July 25, with a sand volleyball tournament at Turner Residence Hall. Matches are scheduled for 6-9 p.m. both nights. Teams must register in advance through www.imleagues.com in order to participate.

Tech students seeking outdoor recreation opportunities may present their valid ATU ID at the Office of Campus Recreation, 513 West L Street in Russellville, to enjoy free check out of bikes, canoes, kayaks, hammocks and tents. Check outs are available weekdays in July from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Free passes to climb and boulder at The Wall, 1605 North Phoenix Avenue in Russellville, are also available to students with a valid ATU ID this summer. The passes may be picked up in the Doc Bryan Student Involvement Center, suite 171, weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Passes may be redeemed at The Wall from 5-10 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1-8 p.m. Sunday during the month of July.
