Black History Month Festivities Continue

Arkansas Tech University students are able to take part in several events this week as part of Black History Month festivities at Arkansas Tech.

The events scheduled are designed to provide students with a variety of cultural, educational and social activities.

Monday, Feb. 8 – Speed Dating

  • Event begins at 6 p.m. in Room 242 of Doc Bryan
  • Express your personality and meet new friends while finding your match
  • Sponsored by the African American Student Association

Wednesday, Feb. 10 – DDI Training “LGBT SafeZone Ally Training”

  • Event runs from 9 a.m. – noon in Room 242 of Doc Bryan
  • Learn how to assist in creating safe spaces for students at Tech
  • Register by emailing diversity@atu.edu

Thursday, Feb. 11 – Movie Night

  • Event begins at 9 p.m. in the Doc Bryan Lecture Hall
  • Watch the movie “Selma” and enjoy refreshments
  • Sponsored by the Student Activities Board

Thursday, Feb. 11 – Equality Ball

  • Event begins at 8 p.m in the Young Ballroom
  • Students are invited to “dress as you wish” to raise awareness for equality
  • Cost is $2
  • Sponsored by Spectrum
