The Arkansas Environmental Education Association (AEEA) will host a conference entitled “Environmental Education Goes to Work” on Thursday, Oct. 12, at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville.
The event seeks to connect students and teachers with employers from the public and private sectors who are providing career opportunities related to environmental science.
Plenary speakers will include Jay Bassett, division chief for the Arkansas Governor’s Dislocated Worker Task Force with the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services; Dr. Deborah Leslie, assistant professor of geology at Arkansas Tech; Amber Mullis, re-employment specialist for the Russellville Workforce Center with the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services; and Leah Saffian, president of the AEEA board and deputy director/education coordinator for the Washington County Department of Environmental Affairs.
