Tech Alumnus Lands Prominent Coaching Job

An Arkansas Tech University alumnus will continue a hectic Saturday schedule this fall, as he is selected to lead the offense of another NCAA Division I program.

Eliah Drinkwitz, a 2004 graduate of Arkansas Tech, has been named the offensive coordinator for North Carolina State University. His hire comes after finishing a successful season at Boise State in the same position.

Drinkwitz helped the Broncos finish with a 9-4 overall record and a win in the San Diego County Poinsettia Bowl. He also served as the Broncos’ tight end coach in 2014 before being promoted to offensive coordinator.

His other coaching experience includes serving as an assistant coach at Arkansas State University (2012-13) and as a graduate assistant at Auburn University (2010-11).  Drinkwitz started his career as a volunteer assistant coach at Alma High School (2001-03), as an assistant coach at Alma High School (2005) and as an assistant coach at Springdale High School (2006-2009).

A native of Alma, Drinkwitz holds a bachelor’s degree in history education from Arkansas Tech.
