Three Instructors Win Ozark Teaching Awards

Three Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus instructors have received special recognition this year for their teaching efforts.

“Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus is proud of the dedicated instructional efforts of all our faculty,” said Bruce Sikes, chancellor of Arkansas Tech-Ozark Campus. “Ms. Ester Leonard, Ms. Nina Pope and Ms. Theresa Fontaine are to be congratulated for their achievements in the classroom and community. They are examples of excellence in teaching and service and are representative of the quality of instruction provided in each of our Ozark Campus programs.”

Theresa Fontaine of Alma (photographed, top right), registered nursing chair for Arkansas Tech-Ozark Campus, was honored with the Teacher of the Year award Thursday at the 35th annual teacher appreciation celebration organized by the Ozark Area Chamber of Commerce. She has been an instructor at Arkansas Tech-Ozark Campus since 2007. The award was voted on by her peers.

Ester Leonard of Alma (photographed, middle right), practical nursing chair for Arkansas Tech-Ozark Campus, was presented with the 2016 Arkansas Tech-Ozark Campus Teaching Excellence Award during the 2016 spring commencement at John E. Tucker Coliseum in Russellville. She has been an instructor at Arkansas Tech-Ozark Campus since 2004.

Nina Pope of Alma (photographed, bottom right), physical therapy assistant chair, earned the 2016 Arkansas Tech-Ozark Campus Teaching Service Award during the 2016 spring commencement at John E. Tucker Coliseum in Russellville. She has been an instructor at Arkansas Tech-Ozark Campus since 2010.
