GED Graduation December 2017

The Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus Adult and Continuing Education department held a graduation ceremony Tuesday, Dec. 12, for recipients of the General Education Development (GED®) certificate in Franklin, Logan and Johnson counties.

The event was held in the Student Services Conference Center at Arkansas Tech-Ozark.
Jim Rofkahr, Plant Manager, Tyson Animal Foods, and sitting Board of Advisor member for the Ozark Campus, gave the commencement speech. Rofkahr, a former GED® recipient, congratulated students on their achievements and encouraged them to continue their education beyond adult education.

Adult and Continuing Education Director Regina Olson said she is proud of all the graduates and hopes they inspire others who have not yet earned a GED® to do so. “Adult education can be the first step toward a new life,” she said.

Arkansas Tech-Ozark has adult education centers in Booneville, Charleston, Clarksville, Ozark and Paris. Along with its GED® program, the centers also teaches English-as-a-second-language (ESL) and workplace classes, as well as basic skills reviews for those in need of upgrading skills to enter higher education, the military or workforce.
