Cabrera, Fincher Win ArHIMA Scholarships

Two Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus health information technology students won scholarships at the 2018 Arkansas Health Information Management Association (ArHIMA) Convention in Eureka Springs.

Keila Cabrera of Russellville was the recipient of the Martha Wilbers and Faye Arnold $350 scholarship.

Kelsey Fincher of Russellville earned the silent auction $250 scholarship.

“This is a great investment in the futures of two of our motivated HIT students,” said Dr. Michael Murders, chief academic officer at ATU-Ozark. “Scholarships like these highlight the importance of dedication and persistence leading to life-changing opportunities.”

Seventy students from six schools were represented at the annual convention. Students were required to submit an application and transcript as well as provide a written essay. Each application was reviewed by the ArHIMA Executive Board. Eight scholarships were awarded in all.
