ATU-Ozark Offers New Concurrent Courses

High school students in the school districts at County Line, Johnson County Westside, Mulberry/Pleasant View and Ozark will have new opportunities to gain concurrent college credits at no charge beginning with the fall 2017 semester.

Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus has gained approval from the Arkansas Career Education Board to offer courses in logistics management, computer information technology and health sciences to those students in a move reflective of educational and career opportunities available in the Arkansas River Valley.

“We are appreciative of our local schools and their interest to better serve the students with relevant career education opportunities,” said Bruce Sikes, ATU-Ozark chancellor. “We have talented students who are readying themselves for the workforce, this partnership will assist in the development of these in demand skills. ATU-Ozark Campus is committed to the successful transition from high school to college to work. The university offers a variety of programs serving students from 17 area high schools throughout the region. This new partnership equips our area schools and their students another tool to reach out to our industries showcasing the regions ability to provide a skilled workforce.”
