Centennial Committees

Arkansas Tech is hard at work preparing to celebrate the University’s Centennial.  The school was established on April 1, 1909.  Act 100 was signed into law by Governor George W. Donaghey, and it established four state agricultural schools:  Arkansas Polytechnic College/Arkansas Tech University, Arkansas State University at Jonesboro, Southern Arkansas University/Southern State University at Magnolia and University of Arkansas at Monticello/Arkansas A & M at Monticello.

As part of the Centennial celebration, Arkansas Tech University will celebrate the people, events and circumstances that have shaped Arkansas Tech over the past 100 years.  The Centennial celebration will also establish a vision for the next 100 years.  Julie Morgan, Assistant to the President, says it’s important to provide “a focus for future University leaders.”

Centennial leaders say a variety of people are needed to help coordinate multiple Centennial projects.  To volunteer to serve on a Centennial Committee, contact Julie Morgan.  Her phone number is (479) 968-0332, and her email is This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
