Billy Mills won the Arkansas Tech University Centennial 5K Run Saturday morning on the Tech campus. Mills (photographed) completed the 5-kilometer course in 19 minutes and 50 seconds. He finished 37 seconds clear of the field and also took first place in the men's 40-49 age division.
Amy Smith (2nd, 20:27), Paul Alexander (3rd, 22:24), Paul Butler (4th, 22:30) and Beth Smith (5th, 23:17) rounded out the top five in the overall standings.
Thirty-nine runners and walkers turned out for Saturday's run, which was the first event in a day full of activities celebrating Arkansas Tech's 100th birthday.
