The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center regional office at Arkansas Tech University has announced training opportunities during August, September and October 2017.

The ATU ASBTDC regional office is designed to assist new, existing, and expanding businesses by offering a variety of services including free one-to-one confidential consulting, free market research and low cost or free training.

Boosting Business with Great Customer Reviews | Thursday, Aug. 17
The Arkansas Tech Small Business and Technology Development Center presents “Boosting Business with Great Customer Reviews” from 9-11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 17, at the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce. Do you know what customers are saying about your business online? Customer reviews on sites such as TripAdvisor and Yelp are influential. We will look at popular review sites, the content you control about your business, how you can turn negative feedback into a positive, and tips for getting great reviews. Workshop is free to attend thanks to a partnership with Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce, Uncommon Communities of Pope County, and Arkansas River Valley Tri Peaks Tourism Association. The Arkansas Tech Small Business and Technology Development Center presents “5 Legal Issues All Business Owners Should Know” on Wednesday, Sept. 20, from 10 a.m.-noon at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville. Learn how to minimize risks associated with five common legal issues whether you are new to small business or a veteran. During this session, LynMarie Liberty-Ellington of Liberty-Ellington Law and Mediation will discuss: corporate formation, personal liability, contracts, taxes, and debt collection. Passions to Profits: Starting a Woman-Owned Business | Thursday, Sept. 21
The Arkansas Tech Small Business and Technology Development Center presents “Passions to Profits: Starting a Woman-Owned Business” on Thursday, Sept. 21, from 5:30-8 p.m. at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville. Women who are considering entrepreneurship or have recently started a business are encouraged to attend. This interactive session includes information and exercises designed to help each participant assess their entrepreneurial aptitude and take an in-depth look at their business idea in order to develop next steps for turning their passion into a profitable business. Website in a Day | Thursday, Oct. 12
The Arkansas Tech Small Business and Technology Development Center presents “Website in a Day” on Thursday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville. Does your business need a website? Have you been held back by a lack of funds or technical skills? Come sit down in our computer lab and design a free website using Weebly. Step-by-step, we will help you create a free account and an attractive, functional, five-page website. Cost to attend is $50.
