Tech Community Wear Jeans with a Purpose

More than 200 Arkansas Tech University faculty and staff donned their blue jeans last week to raise awareness for sexual assault.

In exchange for wearing jeans to work, faculty and staff members each contributed $5 to the Ozark Rape Crisis Center.

The event was part of Denim Day 2016, which is an international effort aimed at sexual assault prevention and education.

In all, the Arkansas Tech family contributed more than $1000 to the organization as part of the event.

Stacy Galbo, graduate assistant for student wellness outreach, helped organize the event.

The first Denim Day dates back to 1999, and this is the second year the Arkansas Tech community has taken part.
