Holiday Inn Express and Suites of Russellville took the top overall prize in the 2018 Paint the Town Green and Gold storefront decorating contest sponsored by the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce and Arkansas Tech University.
The annual initiative invites local businesses and non-profit organizations to show their support for ATU by decorating their buildings in a Tech theme.
Winners were announced during the Paint the Town Green and Gold Festival, which took place on Thursday, Sept. 20, at Depot Park in Russellville Downtown.
Winners in other categories included:
- Best First Time Entry: Quick Service Cleaners
- Tech Pride Award: Old Bank Sports Grill
- Best Indoor Theme: Sherwood Urgent Care
- Best Outdoor Theme: Copper Pig/Dr. Pepper Building
- People’s Choice Award: Copper Pig/Dr. Pepper Building
Raymond Monica, head football coach at Arkansas Tech, presented the awards to the winning businesses.
Paint the Town Green and Gold Week will conclude with the ATU Family Day football game on Saturday, Sept. 22. The Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys will host the Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm for a 6 p.m. contest at Thone Stadium at Buerkle Field.
