The works of two Arkansas Tech University alumnae will be featured when the ATU Concert Chorale and the ATU Chamber Singers offer a concert on Tuesday, April 18.
The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 304 S. Commerce Ave. in Russellville. Admission will be free and open to the public.
Among the pieces on the program are “Through the Dark,” a setting of a Helen Keller text by Dr. Andrea L. Ramsey, and “Fireflies in the Garden” by Carling Futterer.
Ramsey graduated from Arkansas Tech in 2000 with a Bachelor of Music Education degree, and she was inducted into the ATU Hall of Distinction as an outstanding young alumna in 2014. She is associate director of choral studies and assistant professor of conducting at the University of Colorado.
Futterer is a 2015 graduate of Arkansas Tech. She holds a Bachelor of Music education degree.
The choirs will also perform works by Johannes Brahms, Anton Bruckner, Mily Balakireff and Samuel Barber.
The concert will conclude with a singing of “Way Over in the Beulah Land” by Stacey Gibbs.
