Boston Crusaders to Perform at ATU Tuesday

Arkansas Tech University will welcome one of America’s most well-known drum and bugle corps to Russellville on Tuesday, July 18, as part of its senior high band camp week.

The Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps will offer a public rehearsal and performance beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Thone Stadium at Buerkle Field. Highlights will include a 6:45 p.m. joint performance between high school band campers and the visiting ensemble as well as an 8:15 p.m. performance by the Boston Crusaders.

Admission will be free and open to the public.

Boston Crusaders was founded in 1940. It is the third-oldest junior drum and bugle corps in the nation and is a founding member of Drum Corps International.

The group is composed of brass players, percussionists and color guard members under the age of 22. The Boston Crusaders travel over 10,000 miles each summer, performing in more than 40 competitions and exhibitions before a combined audience of more than 300,000 fans.
