ATU Professor to Perform With Orchestra

The New York Classical Players, a professional string orchestra, will perform at Arkansas Tech University on Tuesday, Oct. 10, as part of a tour of the Natural State.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Witherspoon Auditorium. Admission will be free and open to the public.

Dr. Tim Smith (photographed), professor of music at ATU, will serve as guest pianist for a performance of Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major, Op. 58.”

The traveling ensemble will also perform works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Eric Nathan, Andrew Norman and Dmitri Shostakovich.

There will be an additional chamber music recital featuring the New York Classical Players at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Witherspoon Auditorium. Admission for the recital will also be free and open to the public.
